The Ronin by Andre De Villiers is a sensational tactical folding knife with an entirely black stonewashed tactical finish. With impressive S35VN stainless from Crucible, you have top of the line steel and a unique dual ground blade. It features a hollow grind for added sharpness near the base and a flat grind for added strength toward the tip. The squared-off jimping on the thumb ramp is unobtrusive yet highly functional, and really gives this knife a solid, sure grip. The wicked blade flies open equally well using both the light-switch or push-button methods and the frame lock is easy to disengage. The titanium handles are very ergonomic with milled patches to provide additional traction for your fingers. It's an intriguing looking knife built to the fantastic quality you've come to expect from Andre De Villiers.
The titanium lock has an integral lockbar insert/over-travel mechanism that provides solid lockup while being very easy to disengage. The pivot point, though, is what sets this knife apart from all others. It has an inset Torx screw that fits inside the pivot, allowing you to tighten down the pivot while adjusting the centering or overall smoothness of the action. The action is very smooth to say the least and the jimping on the redesigned flipper tang provides excellent purchase. This may not be your typical looking knife, but get it in your hand and you'll definitely warm up to the design thanks to all the great features it has and the fact that the action is on par with even the best flipping designs.
