The 187 (DPT) is from the Medford 'Deployment Series' that was started as a way to get a hard use, 100% American made, hand ground knife into the hands of those who need it without breaking the bank. In other words: it has everything you need and nothing you don't. The 187 (DPT) folder is constructed with a thick (.187 in) titanium lock side with a G10 textured scale. The titanium lock side has a tumbled finish with a machined pocket clip in a brushed finish with the MKT mark. The 187 (DPT) model has a modified drop point profile that has a "tanto-like" reinforced tip bevel grind. It is double hollow ground by hand and has a very corrosion resistant grey PVD coating and can be easily deployed using the thumb hole. The 187 (DP) is the largest folder in the Deployment Series. However, it is still easy to carry thanks to its narrow overall profile The handle shape along with the jimping on the spine provide a sure grip as well as the ability to "choke up" your grip for fine work.
