Ultratech in the Monkey Edge FRAG Pattern™ MkII
The Microtech/Monkey Edge team up on the Ultratechs in MEFP had people out with torches and pitchforks demanding more.
Hell, we aim to please! SO, we got Microtech founder Tony Marfione and his right hand man Hank Greenberg extra drunk, and then had them sign a contract on a cocktail napkin in blood to do some more! OK, so maybe not that extreme, but you get the idea.
Not content to just do the same thing, Microtech has 'peaked and tweaked' things a bit on the MkII version:
The outside edges of the frame are ever so slightly rounded making it a bit easier to carry and put in and out of your pocket
The MkII's but end has a Tri Wing bolt with a carbide glass breaker tip (he MkI's had a plain spike on the butt end)
MkII's lever have a 3D Tri Wing texture.
The Monkey Edge FRAG Pattern Ultratechs are produced in "micro runs" in various configurations (blade style, finishes, etc). There are typically only 20-40 pieces of each version produced. Meaning, if there is a particular version you dig, don't snooze as it could be gone for good before you know it!
Blade: Elmax stainless steel in bayonet profile with sharpened upper swedge grind (making it a double edged blade). The stonewashed blade is finished in the super tough and corrosion resistant Ion Bond DLC Black.
Frame: Hardcoat purple anodized aluminum. Ion Bond DLC Black finished hardware and clip. The clip can be moved to left or right side by unscrewing the glass breaker tip and flipping around.
About DLC PVD: PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is the process by which the DLC coating is applied. The material that is going to be the coating is literally vaporized in a vacuum chamber. This vapor uniformly coats the surface of the part. Unlike other surface treatments like spray coatings or electroplating that can be uneven and have high spots, PVD coatings can literally be laid on atoms thick and the coating is even. In fact, PVD is one of the processes used in making semiconductor chips where things are measured in microns! 
DLC stands for Diamond Like Carbon (diamonds are made from carbon) and is a specific type of coating that is applied using the PVD process. DLC is primarily carbon (along with a trade secret of other minerals) are atomized and deposited. It is important to note that the PVD is not a paint and therefore will not flake off. DLC is an expensive finish, but no other finish is more durable or corrosion resistant.
