About the SMF: The Strider SMF was initially developed for a military unit that required a "fixed blade that could fold." Strider Knives rose to the challenge and the 'tough as nails' SMF has proven itself around the world.
-Oversized stainless steel bull pivot
-Thumb oval opening hole
-Full titanium lock side with carbidized lock face for wear
-Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer on lock to prevent compression or overextension of lockbar
-Wedge frame/handle profile for secure grip with secondary choil to allow user to 'choke up' on the knife for finer work
-Lanyard holes on both sides of frame for left or right lanyard placement
-The wide design of the titanium pocket allows for secure carry is much less likely to bend when caught up than other designs
-G10 scale with integrated back spacer creates incredible structural rigidity

About CPM 154: CPM 154 is not your daddy's 154 CM that has long been favored by knife makers for its good combination of qualities. Crucible has taken the tried and true 154 alloy and applied their particle metallurgy process for more consistent carbide distribution and MUCH higher toughness than traditional 154 CM. We often get asked which steel is "better" between CPM 154, CPM S30V, and CPM S35VN. Well, a book could be written on just that question. Mick Strider has said something to the effect of "Tell you what: I will hand you one knife made from each material and if you can tell the difference after using them, I will give you $10,000". This was a Mick way of saying that they are so similarly performing materials and that only a super scientist metallurgist would be able to tell the difference. If Strider is using it, it is good and guaranteed for life.
